3 Things We Loved About The Grand Tour In Inverness

When it comes to the ultimate Scottish road trip, all roads lead to Inverness. With the stunning Highland scenery and nothing but 500 miles of open road on our doorstep, it is the perfect place from which to set off on a NC500 road trip. Which is why it came as no surprise when our favourite petrol-head trio decided to head to the Highlands for their new Amazon Prime hit series, The Grand Tour. As the now iconic travelling studio took shape on the shores of Scotland’s most iconic loch in early December, a monster motoring marathon was about to get underway. And while we eagerly await the much-anticipated episode of The Grand Tour in Inverness, we thought we would take a look at our three favourite things about Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond’s pit stop at Loch Ness.

1. Nessie Wasn’t The Only Loch Legend

Celebrity Braincrash, a staple feature of the show, has single-handedly been responsibly for the untimely demise of more celebrities than a nail-biting episode of Game of Thrones. And the Grand Tour in Inverness is sure to be no different. Bobbing along Loch Ness in a rowing boat was Olympic cycling legend, Sir Chris Hoy … before being engulfed in a dramatic explosion and flash of smoke.

2. James May Put Caledonian Canal Centre On The Map

In the midst of filming, the trio headed to the Caledonian Canal Centre where James May seemed sheepishly impressed.

3. The Writing On The Wall

And finally, after a few days of filming (in other words, wreaking havoc on Loch Ness), three vintage vehicles were seen driving past a local chippy with the words “Go away Clarkso Hammon Maye” painted on the wall. The graffiti-inspired prank was the perfect way to end The Grand Tour in Inverness as the trio took to the road en route to their next filming destination.

With the usual Clarkson and Co antics to look forward to, we can’t wait to see what else The Grand Tour in Inverness episode has in store.
