Outlander Inspired Experiences with Kingsmills Hotel

Enjoy a Highland Outlander Tour, inspired by the Scottish Outlander TV series.

A must for avid fans of Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander books and TV series, this tour takes guests to some of the inspirational places you have come to know and love through the books.  You will also visit sites associated with the Fraser and Mackenzie Clans which we know you’ll love.

Standing Stones

You will visit Clava Cairns; an exceptionally well preserved burial site with cairns and standing stones, built around 4,000 years ago.  Best of all for Outlander fans, one of the stones is a split stone – so beware!

Castle Leoch

Amazingly, despite its striking resemblance to her description of Castle Leoch, Diana Gabaldon had never heard of Castle Leod prior to writing Outlander (she has since become a guardian of the castle, no less!). This Mackenzie stronghold claims to be “one of the most beautiful, romantic and unspoilt castles in the Highlands”

This tour will also make a great choice for non-Outlander fans as you will be surrounded with breathtaking scenery, fascinating history, wide open landscapes and colourful culture; it’s hardly surprising that the Scottish Highlands stirs such passion!
