Whin Park is a large public park in Inverness, on the banks of the River Ness. Ideal if you’re looking for somewhere to spend some family time. This is a fantastic park for the wee ones, as it boasts various adventure play zones, a boating pond with ducks and its very own the miniature railway! Adventure Play

The park has four different adventure play zones, with swings, slides, climbing frames, zip lines and lots more. There is also a trim trail assault course suitable for adults and teenagers. So the whole family can get involved!

Boating Pond

The boating pond is a great place for feeding the ducks. There are rowing boats and paddle boats for hire on the pond too. Nearby, you’ll find a shop selling refreshments such as hot and cold drinks, ice cream and other treats. There is also plenty of space for picnics.

Miniature Railway

Also located at Whin Park is the charming Ness Islands Railway. Open during the summer months, from around April to October. This is the most northerly miniature railway in the United Kingdom, taking you on a fun adventure around the park. Winding around repeating loops, cuttings and even over bridges!

Winter Wonderland

During the festive season, Whin Park is home to Inverness’ Winter Wonderland. An enchanting winter festival where the children can meet Santa and his reindeer and take part in festive activities. Beautiful lights and fairground rides make the season bright at Whin Park.
