Strathpeffer - Victorian at its heart

Strathpeffer

When you think of Victorian architecture, your mind might not naturally fall to the little village of Strathpeffer in the Scottish Highlands. However, this spa town offers some beautiful examples of the era. This is because it was once a centre for health thanks to the discovery of sulphurous springs in the 18th century. With its rich history and stunning location, Strathpeffer is a wonderful gem not far from the Kingsmills Hotel.

Highland Museum of Childhood

Take a step back in time and see how the children of yesterday lived and played. This can be done at the wonderful Highland Museum of Childhood. This great collection is housed in Strathpeffer and is a fun attraction suitable for children and adults alike. There are books, dolls and costumes from decades past all housed in a quaint old train station.
