Glen Ord Distillery

Founded in 1838, the Glen Ord distillery is one of the oldest in Scotland. It produces the renowned Singleton of Glen Ord single malt whisky. Choose from a range of whisky tours to learn about the whisky-making process, from malting and mashing to fermenting and distilling. End your visit with a tasting session to sample some of the finest whiskies, and perhaps pick up a bottle or two to take home. There is also a bar and deli to make your visit complete.

Play a round at the local golf club

The Muir of Ord Golf Club started as a nine-hole course in 1875, before being extended into 18 holes with a design by legendary course architect James Braid in the 1920s. In 2016, it was voted Scottish Golf Club of the Year. Visitors are welcome to play, although make sure you book ahead of arriving.

War memorial

Be sure to take some time to visit the impressive war memorial at Muir of Ord. The tall stone cairn is set slightly back from Corrie Road, and makes for a pleasant space to sit and think. The memorial remembers those who lost their lives in war, with names etched onto the front.
